April: Middle Earth @nerdy.post

This is a bit late, but I’m pretty sure no one will be spoiled for the April: Middle Earth @nerdy.post unboxing. 😁.

I can’t even tell you guys how much I loved this box. I don’t know how Alexis does it every time, but I’m so impressed with how much thought and how much detail goes into each item. From the selected quotes right down to the Gondor penny, Alexis really poured her heart into this box.

.

I loved every item, but my favorites were the poster print of Gandalf’s very famous quote–I used to have it posted in my classroom when I was teaching. 😄 And, of course, the one washi tape to rule them all! It’s gold washi with the One ring runes printed on it. If you don’t know, I’m obsessed with washi tape and this was perfect!

Please make sure to scroll down to see close-ups and the flip sides of the bookmarks. Everything was stunning!

Also, the theme for May is MAAS! You don’t want to miss it! Check out my girl Kori @_livelaughread for a discount code on your first box!

Book Challenge: A Book 50 Years Older Than You

It’s Thursday. We made it to our spring break! 😄 Tomorrow is the first day of vacation. One of the first things we do is head to the library to stock up on books during the break. What are some things you do to get your vacation started?.
For #grimdragon A book that’s at least 50 years older than you: The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I’m still reading through the stories but I’m enjoying them so far.

.
For #watermelanerdsapril The Dregs: Okay. I slipped in the crow because it went well with my Sherlock Holmes edition but it’s really a nod to one of my favorite band of criminals whom I think Sherlock Holmes would have probably found fascinating.

.
For #thehamiltonedition “I am inimitable. I am an original.”-Most Unique Character: Sherlock Holmes! Most famous detective ever!

For #squeakybookishlibrary Sun and Moon: Mrs. Hudson is the moon–calm and steady what Sherlock needs a lot. Irene Adler is the sun–fiery and burns which we know Sherlock has experienced with her!

.

The Sherlock skull bookmark with Mrs. Hudson’s quote “A nice murder. That’ll cheer you up” is from the Sherlock @nerdy.post.

Book Challenge: Book that got you through a tough time

Is the weekend really over? Sad face! I’ve been been pretty much battling migraines all weekend and now that they seem to be going away, the weekend is over. At least my Monday won’t be too bad. Yay? .
For #grimdragon I needed this book! A book that got you through a tough time: If you’re new to my profile, I’m a big Jane Austen fan! Pride and Prejudice came at a time in my life when I needed it most. It was my first year teaching and I wasn’t sure if I was cut out for teaching. My father also passed away that year too. It was a year plagued with doubt and loss and Pride and Prejudice helped me get through it all. I actually saw parts of the BBC Miniseries (Colin Firth will always be Mr. Darcy to me!) on TV and decided that I wanted to read it first before I saw anymore of it. I loved it! Jane Austen also inspired me to be a writer too.

.
For #squeakybookishlibrary Good and Evil: Mr. Darcy and Mr. Wickham!

.
For #thehamiltonedition “It’s hard to have intercourse over four sets of corsets.” Hot and steamy scenes: Okay. Corsets were used in Regency England which is when Pride and Prejudice was set! But, as for hot and steamy, well, I thought the Netherfield ball when Darcy and Elizabeth dance together and verbally spar was steamy…for the Regency era. Oh! And Lydia and Wickham! They were totally hot and steamy! (But it was like implied.)

.

This gorgeous Darcy and Elizabeth print was from the Classics themed @nerdy.post.

Happy Mail!

Even though January was a tough month for me and my family (see previous posts), receiving happy mail helped to make it better. I have so much to share with you all! The January boxes for @owlcrate and @nerdy.post were AMAZING. Owlcrate’s theme for January was Classic Remix and Nerdy Post’s theme was Star Wars. I loved both of these boxes! I also received some cute planner stickers from @paperkumaco. Then my prizes for the 1 year anniversary giveaway for @riddlesteashoppe arrived too! Between caring for a sick family and all the rainy weather, this load of happy mail was wonderful. .

I’ve got it down in my bullet journal to take pictures of all the goodies. I’m at an age where if I don’t write it down, it won’t get done! I can’t wait to share everything with you all!

.

This is a spoiler free post, but if you subscribe to either of these services, did you get yours yet? What did you think? Who else has to write everything down so they don’t forget to do all the things?

Book Challenge: Favorite Book and Author

For #squeakybookishlibrary Casablanca: Dated Love and #bibliophile2017 Favorite Classic Book and favorite author, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is my all-time favorite book and Jane Austen is my all-time favorite author! I discovered Pride and Prejudice my first year teaching. It was a really hard time in my life and I caught the BBC mini-series on TV and thought I’d probably enjoy the book. Not only did I enjoy it, but I really admired Jane Austen’s style and the fact that she wrote during a time when it was frowned upon for women to make their own living..

My Jane Austen swag is from the Classics @nerdy.post. My January @nerdy.post arrived today and the theme is Star Wars. I haven’t had a chance to open it yet because we were on our way out the door! I’ll share an unboxing post later in the week.

.

I’m at my SIL’s house for her birthday party, but I snuck on to post! 😆 What are you up to tonight?

Nerdy Post: Emma Coaster

My December @nerdy.post came in and the theme was Fantastic Beasts! Friends, I don’t know how Alexis @dropandgivemenerdy does it, but it was AMAZING. No spoilers here, but if you haven’t gotten yours yet, you’re in for a real treat! I loved everything in it and I can’t wait to share my unboxing post with you..

Featured here is the Emma coaster from the November Classics book theme. Isn’t it gorgeous?! It was the first item I saw in the box and I hugged it. ❤️ This is my favorite quote from Emma. The scripting is beautful—as always—and the colors complement each other so well! For someone who is a major Jane Austen fan, this Emma coaster was perfect. Also, Alexis shared that she was reading Emma when she found out she was pregnant with her baby and almost named her after the character. It’s little details like this that make me love this subscription even more!

.

I can’t wait for the January box. (OMG JANUARY IS COMING.) The theme for January is STAR WARS! I can’t wait to see what Alexis has in store for us. Make sure to check out my girls Kori @_livelaughread and Alison @littlebookwormig for 15% off your first box! You don’t want to miss this one!

Book Challenge: Book Boyfriend

For #livelaughbemerryandbright Book Boyfriend! Do you remember your first book boyfriend/girlfriend? I remember as a child, I thought the prince from Cinderella was the bee’s knees. Then in junior high, I read To Kill a Mockingbird and I thought Jem hung the moon. Then in college, I read Pride & Prejudice and Mr. Darcy set the standard for all book boyfriends there after. ❤️.

This pin was made by @lapelyeah for the November @nerdy.post Classic books theme! Isn’t it beautiful? I really love the bookspine detail that Alexis put into each classic title. I’m so happy with it. December’s @nerdy.post theme is Fantastic Beasts! I’m so excited!

.

Thanks to everyone who commented about my daughter. The fever seems to have cleared up and she’s her usual chattering self, following her older brothers around. 😆

.

Also, I posted on my InstaStory happy mail that I received from Society 6! Problem is, I didn’t order anything and there was no gift note! 😳 I was sent Evie’s @eviebookish “Fall into books” mug. It’s absolutely gorgeous but I’m dying to know who sent it! If you did, comment or DM me so I know!

.

I hope you all are having a fabulous Sunday!
