So my oldest son is an avid reader. He was working his way through HP and the Chamber of Secrets, and he also enjoys graphic novels such as Big Nate and Captain Underpants. Recently, he started showing interest in my manga collection. Since most of my collection is shojo (girl stories), I didn’t think he’d be interested in any of them. He asked if he could read the first of this series DN Angel. Middle schooler Daisuke Niwa suffers from a genetic condition. Anytime his romantic feelings for a girl emerges, he transforms into the The Dark Thief. The only way to control his condition is to confess his feelings to his crush. It’s a lot of fun with light humor and some romance.
I don’t have the complete collection and for my son’s birthday, I was able to find volumes 11-13. Those were part of my happy mail last week! My son is thrilled and I’m bemused at the fact he’s enjoying this so much.
