Mondays

MONDAYS. 😩 I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! If you saw my Stories, I had a fantastic Mother’s Day–out all by myself! It was glorious! I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful day. .
Thank goodness for Kat’s @shopthepathtonarnia Kick Ass mug! I NEEDS IT to get this week started. After a delightful day of no one bothering me and shopping for fancy pens and new props, I’m suddenly faced with the realities of adulting–laundry, packing lunches, picking up toys, 😩. Thank goodness for audiobooks to help get through it!

.
Speaking of audiobooks, I just finished Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and it was amazing. I love Benjamin Alire Saenz and I love Lin Manuel Miranda for narrating the audiobook. I’ll post more about it later this week, but I highly recommend this story! .

What are you up to today? Do you listen to audiobooks? What’s your favorite so far?

April: Middle Earth @nerdy.post

This is a bit late, but I’m pretty sure no one will be spoiled for the April: Middle Earth @nerdy.post unboxing. 😁.

I can’t even tell you guys how much I loved this box. I don’t know how Alexis does it every time, but I’m so impressed with how much thought and how much detail goes into each item. From the selected quotes right down to the Gondor penny, Alexis really poured her heart into this box.

.

I loved every item, but my favorites were the poster print of Gandalf’s very famous quote–I used to have it posted in my classroom when I was teaching. 😄 And, of course, the one washi tape to rule them all! It’s gold washi with the One ring runes printed on it. If you don’t know, I’m obsessed with washi tape and this was perfect!

.

Please make sure to scroll down to see close-ups and the flip sides of the bookmarks. Everything was stunning!

.

Also, the theme for May is MAAS! You don’t want to miss it! Check out my girl Kori @_livelaughread for a discount code on your first box!

May the 4th be with you!

May the 4th be with you! Hope your Thursday is awesome!.

I can’t help looking at this picture and wanting more of Jyn. I loved her character in Rogue One and I wish we could have more movies with her. Catalyst is the prequel to Rogue One. Sad to read though because you know the characters’ fates already. 😰

.

What are you all up to today? For me, chores and an ortho appointment for my oldest. 😐

.

For #grimdragon, May the 4th be with you! Star Wars day!

Book Challenge: Guess that book

Okay. Wow. If you followed my stories on Instagram yesterday, you got to see my experience at the LA Times Book Festival and it was amazing! I met a lot of authors and they were all so nice and supportive when I told them I was an aspiring writer. My most memorable moment was meeting Laini Taylor! She took the time to chat with me after her signing and I pretty much have been like 💀😭 all day. .
For #grimdragon Guess the book: I also had a chance to meet the author of this series too! I love this author and I’m so excited for her new book coming out in September. I’m hoping to snag an ARC this weekend at Y’all West. Hint: this beautiful fanart by Grace Fong @fictograph shows the whole cast of characters from the series. The book is an exclusive edition given away at Y’all West last year.
.
#thehamiltonedition “No one else was in the room where it happened.” –Behind the scenes: Also included is the BTS shot for this post. I prefer taking pictures on my desk. I get a lot of natural light from the windows. I also use a step stool to shoot my pictures. It’s the best way to get a wide shot that you can crop later for posting.

Book Challenge: A Book 50 Years Older Than You

It’s Thursday. We made it to our spring break! 😄 Tomorrow is the first day of vacation. One of the first things we do is head to the library to stock up on books during the break. What are some things you do to get your vacation started?.
For #grimdragon A book that’s at least 50 years older than you: The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I’m still reading through the stories but I’m enjoying them so far.

.
For #watermelanerdsapril The Dregs: Okay. I slipped in the crow because it went well with my Sherlock Holmes edition but it’s really a nod to one of my favorite band of criminals whom I think Sherlock Holmes would have probably found fascinating.

.
For #thehamiltonedition “I am inimitable. I am an original.”-Most Unique Character: Sherlock Holmes! Most famous detective ever!

For #squeakybookishlibrary Sun and Moon: Mrs. Hudson is the moon–calm and steady what Sherlock needs a lot. Irene Adler is the sun–fiery and burns which we know Sherlock has experienced with her!

.

The Sherlock skull bookmark with Mrs. Hudson’s quote “A nice murder. That’ll cheer you up” is from the Sherlock @nerdy.post.

Book Challenge: Tea and Book Boyfriends

I hope you all had a great Monday! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. No more migraines today, but I still took it easy. We’re all every excited because this is the last week of school until our spring break—just three more days! (They get Friday off!).
For #squeakybookishlibrary Alive and Dead—If it hadn’t been for Aunjuli’s tea, I wouldn’t have made it through my morning! 😅

.
For #watermelanerdsapril Appreciate: Coffee/Tea—Tea! If you saw my Story, I rushed to take pictures today because the light was so good. But I forgot to eat breakfast! But I made tea though. Today’s choice was from @riddlesteashoppe The Dark Prophecies Draft tea. This is a blend of almond, tiger eye, oriental spice with white peppercorn. Perfect for a Monday morning when you need to get your morning going. I love Aunjuli’s tea and if tea is your jam, I highly recommend checking out her shop. Visit my girl Natasha @shotmeinthebook for a discount code!

.
For #thehamiltonedition “You walked in and my heart went BOOM” Book Boyfriends/Girlfriends—Pictured here is one of my #currentreads A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi. I loved The Star-Touched Queen and A Crown of Wishes was one of my most anticipated reads this year. I’m still reading it, but I’m enjoying it so much. Gauri and Vikram are becoming my OTP. Vikram is totally book boyfriend worthy and if I’m honest, I’m crushing on how awesome Gauri is too.😍

.

Wooden “Book Hoarder” bookmark is also from @riddleteashoppe! Mom Fuel mug is made by Thimblepress from Target.
