For #livelaughbooksnovember: Duology, I almost picked the Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, but I wanted to feature the Eon/Eona duology by Alison Goodman @alisongoodmanauthor since it so under-hyped. Eon has been studying Dragon Magic which requires two skills—an intensive study of sword-work and magical aptitude. Eon hopes to be chosen as a Dragoneye—an apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune. But Eon is really Eona, a girl disguised as a boy because females are forbidden to practice Dragon Magic. When she enters the trails to become an apprentice, an unusual twist of fate occurs and Eona’s true identity becomes more difficult to hide..
Is this really as awesome as it sounds? YES. YES IT IS. Girl disguised as a boy to get what she wants? A secret power yet to be discovered? And DRAGONS? Sounds amazing right? In addition to an amazing female protagonist, the world building is just as good! It’s inspired by Japanese and Chinese cultures and blended seamlessly to create a mythical world filled with magic and dragons.
For #nanopromptchallenge, A saint with a secret-Eona is not quite a saint. She does have flaws, but works hard to overcome them. She’s hid her identity as a girl since she was a child (She’s 16 when the story begins.), but eventually she learns that if she had been true to who she was, the path to her destiny would’ve turned out differently.
For #grimdragon Books in favorite team colors, Gryffindor Quidditch team! This also counts for USC too! ❤️💛❤️💛
I hope everyone is having a fantastic Monday! I felt like today went by fast! Mondays usually don’t, but a few times today I felt like I was behind on what I needed to do. But, other than that, it was a pretty good day. How was yours?
