Book Challenge: Books and Dessert

Okay. So, I was really excited when I found a string of orange and another string of purple fairy lights. I thought they would go well with #livelaughbooksoctober Books and Sweets (National Dessert Day) prompt, but um, well, this didn’t come out like I imagined it would (bookstagrammer’s constant worry, right?), but I wanted to post this picture anyway because it took me a while to make sure the eyeballs were all facing the same way #forbookstagram and also JESSE. This is a great read for the Halloween season. If you want something fun, with a little romance and ghosts, you’ll love this series. Plus, Meg Cabot!.

Here’s the Goodreads summary of the first book in the series, The Mediator:

There’s a hot guy in Susannah Simon’s bedroom. Too bad he’s a ghost.
Suze is a mediator – a liaison between the living and the dead. In other words, she sees dead people. And they won’t leave her alone until she helps them resolve their unfinished business with the living. But Jesse, the hot ghost haunting her bedroom, doesn’t seem to need her help. Which is a relief, because Suze has just moved to sunny California and plans to start fresh, with trips to the mall instead of the cemetery, and surfing instead of spectral visitations.
But the very first day at her new school, Suze realizes it’s not that easy. There’s a ghost with revenge on her mind… and Suze happens to be in the way.

Was there a prop you thought was going to be awesome for bookstagram and when you tried it, it didn’t quite work out? What was it? What did you end up doing? Fear not, I’m not giving up on these orange and purple fairy lights. I will figure out how to use them in pictures!

Brunch today with Jade @bedtimebkworm!!
