Book Challenge: Adoption: Who would you adopt as a child or sibling?

Let’s see if I can catch up with some posts today! I know some of these prompts are really late, but better late than never, right? 😅.

I read the series Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children during the summer and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! Don’t let the covers scare you off! This story is about Jacob discovering a secret about his grandfather and how he’s connected to it. Jacob sets off to uncover this secret, but when he discovers the truth, Jacob realizes his grandfather was involved in a lot more than he lead on and that Jacob has to choose between returning to his old life or continuing the secret life his grandfather lived many years ago. Along the way, he makes new friends. Sounds harmless, right? Seriously, you will have no regrets reading this!

For #bookocandisrex, Adoption: Who would you adopt as a child or sibling? Miss Peregrine has her work cut out for her, but several times during the story, my heart broke for the Peculiar children. They made their way to Miss Peregrine’s because their families were afraid of them or sold them in exchange for money. So, okay, they have Peculiar powers, but they’re still children!

For #livelaughbooksseptember, Best Fictional Grandparents: Abraham, Jacob’s grandfather. He reminded me of one of those sweet, grandfathers who’d tell stories, but he actually turned out to be a bad ass. 💪🏼

For #septemberfantasychallenge, If deserted on an island, I would like these four characters to accompany me: Emma from Miss Peregrine’s because she can make fire with her bare hands. Millard from Miss Peregrine’s because he knows a lot especially about surviving. Miss Peregine because as a bird, she probably would be able to catch food for us and Bronwen because she’s super strong and can help build a shelter!

I’m so excited to read Tales of the Peculiar. Inside it says that they were put together by Millard, a character from the series. I love that detail because he cared so much about the stories.

Hope your Monday is going well!
