Book Challenge: Impulse Buys

As mentioned in a previous post, I’m a big Jane Austen fan. Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite book. After I read it, I wanted to read more about Elizabeth and Darcy and the what-ifs. Thank the book goddess for fanfic! I used to be an avid fanfic reader and writer (a million years ago), so it’s fun to see Jane Austen and/Pride and Prejudice inspired stories out in the wild..

These were all impulse/cover buys! I’ve gotten a lot better at not impulse buying books, but it’s really hard to resist used books sales! At 75 cents to $2, I can’t say no to a continuation of Darcy and Elizabeth’s story. Also, the covers are gorgeous!

.

I’ve only had a chance to read Me and Mr. Darcy (cute and fun). I don’t like judging books by their covers, so I’m pretty open to trying out anything! I’m eager to get to Pemberley Ranch. Here’s the summary from Goodreads:

.

When the smoke has cleared from the battlefields and the civil war has finally ended, fervent Union supporter Beth Bennet reluctantly moves with her family from their home in Meryton, Ohio, to the windswept plains of Rosings, Texas. Handsome, haughty Will Darcy, a Confederate officer back from the war, owns half the land around Rosings, and his even haughtier cousin, Cate Burroughs, owns the other half.

.

In a town as small as Rosings, Beth and Will inevitably cross paths. But as Will becomes enchanted with the fiery Yankee, Beth won’t allow herself to warm to the man who represents the one thing she hates most: the army that killed her only brother.

But when carpetbagger George Whitehead arrives in Rosings, all that Beth thought to be true is turned on its head, and the only man who can save her home is the one she swore she’d never trust…

.

RIGHT?!

.

Now fess up! What are some of your impulse buys? Were there any books that you misjudged because of its cover?

.

Also, my washi tape flash giveaway is today! Check for the original post to enter. It closes at midnight PST!
